B'way Update: Mamma Mia Revival

Oh my, here we go again. Mamma Mia, the international smash hit musical employing the songs of ABBA, will return to its original Broadway home the Winter Garden where it opened in 2001. This new revival will begin previews Aug. 2 and open on Aug. 14. The original production which opened in London in 1999, is still running after 25 years and has been seen by over 70 million people worldwide. There has been a film version and a sequel. The Broadway edition also played the Broadhurst and ran for a total of 5,758 performances.

Casting will be announced at a later date. The original director Phyllida Lloyd and choreographer Anthony Van Laast repeat their staging.
